SwedeMasters in Santa Barbara, CA was formerly known as Lipman Volvo, which was established by Jon Lipman in 1984. In July of 2000, Tim Kitt purchased the shop and renamed it SwedeMasters, which reflected the shop’s Swedish vehicle expertise of SAAB and VOLVO. In 2014, SwedeMasters added BMW and MINI COOPER to their specialties.
Tim Kitt, the current owner, has over 40 years of experience in the automotive industry and actually grew up in the U.K. He is from Yorkshire, England where he served as an apprentice in his father’s automotive business and trained through the City and Guilds of London Institute. After traveling the world by bicycle in the early 1990s, Tim married and settled in Southern California to start a life with his beautiful wife, Linda. They have 5 amazing kids who have been fortunate to grow up in the Santa Barbara area. They truly feel blessed to be a part of this community!
Today, SwedeMasters continues to offer excellent service with a friendly, courteous, and respectful attitude, while always paying attention to the details. Over the years, SwedeMasters has added to their already extensive list of services, and now offers car washing and courtesy rides. Many of our customers have been coming to this shop for over 20 years. We strive to remain the trusted shop that builds and maintains relationships with our customers as we continue to serve them over the years.
